Visible World Catches MTVN's Eye; Internet Broadcasting Grabs AOL Exec; Tacoda Boosts Women's Content

MTV Networks selected Visible World for its video ad technology. The unit of Viacom will use Visible World to customize and target video ads across MTVN’s U.S.-based TV channels and Web sites, including the MTV, MTV2, VH1, CMT, Spike TV, Comedy Central, TV Land, Nickelodeon and Nick At Nite.

Internet Broadcasting named David Lebow president and CEO. The network of TV station Web sites hired Lebow away from his post as EVP and GM of AOL Media Networks. Reid Johnson, who had been CEO and president, will remain with the media company as founder.

Tacoda added several women’s sites to its ad network. New to the behavioral targeting ad network are Atlantic Media, Connecting Moms, Real Girls Media, and Active Interest Media.

Local.com selected Expedia for online booking and travel-related content. The local search engine will use Expedia as its exclusive travel partner.

Adverplex appointed Dr. Philip Klein as chief scientist. The provider of search engine marketing systems tasked Klein with research and development efforts in the areas of algorithms, optimization and probabilistic analysis.

Orange UK has selected PhoneSpots’ mobile advertising exchange. The U.K. based phone company will use PhoneSpot for listing information and targeted advertising to mobile phones using directory assistance service.

IKnowtion appointed Sanjib Mohanty as marketing sciences analyst. The marketing and analytic consultancy assigned Mohanty to its Behavioral Sciences team. Mohanty previously served as the director of research at Sigma Marketing Group.

The American Film Institute signed a three-year agreement with Internap Network Services. Internap will provide IP connectivity, streaming services and delivery of rich media content for AFI events including “The AFI Life Achievement Award” and “100 Years. . . 100 Greatest Movies-10th Anniversary Edition.”
