SEMPO adds Lupi to board; Optiem grabs new client, account manager.

The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) added Mauro Lupi to its board of directors and additionally named him chairman of SEMPO Europe, a new post. The organization also appointed seven SEM execs to its new SEMPO European Committee.

The European SEMPO committee members include Sylvain Bellaoche of Referencement.com; Massimo Burgio of Ad Maiora SpA; David Degrelle of 1ere Position; Marco Loguercio of Sems Srl; Morten N|chel of Cphinteractive; Christian Petersen of Eprofessional GmbH; and Tim Ringer of Metapeople.

Lupi is founder and president of Ad Maiora, an Internet marketing and advertising company.

Optiem picked up a new client and hired Emily Knight as an account manager specializing in search engine marketing. Knight held several account management positions with J. Walter Thompson.

Optiem also added gift retailer Things Remembered to its client roster. The company tapped Optiem to manage its permission-based, email marketing efforts.
