R/GA hired Taras Wayner as executive creative director. The agency created the new position for Wayner, who will lead creative direction across the Verizon account. Taras joined R/GA from Berlin Cameron United.

Google hired Avinash Kaushik to its analytics team. Kaushik joins Google Analytics to help Web site owners refine their content creation processes through consideration of the user experience.

Turn added Glenn Fishback as VP of sales. Fishback joins the ad network from Coupons Inc., where he was the vice president of sales. Prior to that he was with Claria Corporation.

Flip promoted Jennifer Frommer to associate publisher, marketing. The CondéNet site focuses on teen girl topics and Frommer previously held the position of sponsorship director.

Online teen forum Piczo hired Derek Rudd as VP of North American sales. He was formerly with Fox Interactive Media’s IGN Entertainment.

Gather.com signed Pamela Johnston. The social media site for adults signed the Emmy award-winning news director as vice president of community engagement. She was previously leading executive at Boston’s Tribune-owned station, WLVI-TV Channel 56.

The Active Network promoted two. The provider of software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations promoted Matt Codling to director, online media sales for the West Coast, and Matt Beckman to director, online media sales for the Southeast, overseeing ad sales for Active.com and four other properties in the network.

Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S promoted Brandon Rea to Midwest online manager. Rea will oversee Web sites CarandDriver.com and RoadandTrack.com, and will report to Jim Keplesky, VP of interactive sales, Men’s Enthusiast Network.
