John Battelle’s branded blog network Federated Media added Chris Albinson to its board after receiving a round of funding from JP Morgan Partners, where Albinson is a partner. Other investors in the round include the Omidyar Network and The New York Times. The dollar amount of the financing wasn’t disclosed.

Squeaky Wheel launched a new site with CGM elements for SoBe Life Water. It’s the first online presence for the new product.

aQuantive hired Wayne Wisehart as chief financial officer. In two weeks he’ll replace Michael Vernon, who announced his departure in November. Wisehart was CFO of Seattle-based mobile operator Western Wireless.

Ask.com promoted Tao Yang to SVP and chief scientist. Yang joined the company with the acquisition of Teoma in 2001.

The Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association made Carton Donofrio Partners its ad agency of record. The assignment includes creative and media buying services for print and digital campaigns.

DreamWorks Pictures used rich media technology and services from Interpolls in its campaign for “She’s the Man.” Actress Amanda Bynes shot green screen footage exclusively for the banner execution, which appeared on AOL, Yahoo and other sites.

Jonathan Jackson joined Posner Advertising as director of interactive strategies and new business development. The company is a B-to-B marketing firm.

San Diego digital agency Geary Interactive and L.A. Promotion launched an online promo for MGA Entertainment’s line of Bratz Genie Magic dolls. The work takes the form of a Web contest that coincides with a national TV campaign.
