Modem Media hires R/GA's Gallon; Ziff Davis names Ira Becker to head 1UP gaming media network.

Modem Media hired Frank Gallon as chief operating officer. Gallon was most recently CFO and COO at R/GA, where he served for 10 years.

Ziff Davis Media Game Group named Ira Becker senior VP and general manager of its 1UP network. Becker was previously VP of business development for Ziff Davis Media, and earlier served as head of strategic alliances for E-centives.

Acxiom hired Michael Durham to its board. Durham was president and CEO of Sabre, an IT services company focused on the travel industry, before which he worked for American Airlines as VP of finance and chief financial officer.

BURST! Media named John Babcock and Matt Collins to account executive roles. Babcock was promoted internally. Collins joins from RIS news Magazine.
