NYT Company hires About.com veteran as chief digital architect; Circuit City promotes Dias to CMO.
The New York Times Company hired About.com veteran Ron McCoy as chief digital architect. McCoy was SVP of research, operations and technology for Nielsen//NetRatings in February and March. Before that, he had been CTO and head of operations for About for six years. Earlier, he was CTO of Cox Interactive Media.
Circuit City Direct President Fiona Dias has been given the additional role of chief marketing officer. Dias joined Circuit City five years ago as SVP of marketing, before which she led marketing for wireless software play Stick Networks.
Tamara Alesi, partner and group media director at The Digital Edge, has left the agency. Alesi goes to The Martin Agency, where she’ll handle all media buying on the UPS account.
Wired News hired Paul Van de Kamp as national sales director. Van de Kamp was most recently VP of national sales for LA.com. Earlier, he was senior director at Overture and Western regional manager at ESPN.com.
Interpolls hired James Kreckler as VP, Eastern region sales and promoted Creed Pettit to VP, Western region sales. Kreckler has worked for AOL Media Networks and DoubleClick. Pettit joined the digital marketing firm in 2003 as director of sales, and he previously worked at Viewpoint and Excite@Home.
Ad management player Accipiter added ConsumerReview.com to its customer roster. The site operates 10 online communities.
