Online ad network Burst Media has brought in 15-year GM Mediaworks/Campbell-Ewald veteran Karin Goss to serve as an account executive in Burst’s Detroit office. Goss will replace Charles E. Cahill who has left Burst.

Mobile search provider Medio Systems has hired ex-Revenue Science exec Omar Tawakol as chief advertising officer. Previously CMO of Revenue Science, Tawakol will be in charge of new ad offerings and relationships, reporting to CEO Brian Lent.

SVP of the Yahoo Publisher Network Group, Bill Demas, will leave the company at the end of this month. Will Johnson, who previously headed up the network’s beta program, is also leaving Yahoo. Josh Siegel will continue to run business operations for the beta program.

McCann Worldgroup San Francisco has been named agency of record for the global Nortel ad account, effective immediately. In the new role, McCann will support the telecom account from London, Hong Kong and Miami.

Magazine subscription agency M2 Media Group will offer paid magazine subscriptions using priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price system. The new MyPrice Magazines online service will allow consumers to bid on magazine subscriptions.

MTV alum Jason Malamud has been hired as VP and GM of Verizon FiOS Media. The former VP, affiliate advertising sales and marketing at MTV Networks will be responsible for ad sales on Verizon’s fiber-optic FiOS platforms.

Home entertainment device maker MediaREADY has chosen 5W Public Relations as its PR agency of record. The PR firm is charged with building brand awareness for the company.

The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce has picked VerticalResponse as its e-mail marketing service provider. The nonprofit uses e-mail to market events and programs planned throughout the year.

Bazaarvoice has signed HP as a new client. The firm will use the reviews system to add ratings and reviews to its site.
