Local search service Citysearch.com has hired Andy Shenkler as VP of search and product development.
Prior to joining Citysearch, Shenkler served as senior director of digital services and the global asset management group for EMI Music Distribution in Santa Monica, Calif. He also served as the manager of Internet technology for Yahoo/Geocities.
In his new role, Shenkler will handle direction and management of the organization’s search strategists, developers and technicians.
“[Andy] will play an integral role in developing our technology and search capabilities to drive and strengthen our local pay for performance business model,” said Citisearch President Briggs Ferguson.
DoubleClick has signed new DART for Publishers contracts with CondéNet, FOX Sports Interactive Media and Internet Broadcasting Systems (IBS), and has renewed its agreement with Bloomberg.
“We found that our rapid growth and significant bursts in traffic will require the scalability of DoubleClick’s DART for Publishers solution,” said Dave Abbott, CTO of IBS.
CondéNet is a former client of 24/7 Real Media.
PointRoll has hired two campaign coordinators and a senior production engineer.
Chrissy Piotti and Mark Leighton were hired as campaign coordinators. Piotti spent five years with Power Design, an integrated design firm. Leighton was a producer with Euro RSCG and led digital ad campaigns for Nextel, VeriSign and Volvo.
Paul Marker was brought on as senior production engineer. Marker spent two years at Fannie Mae as a Web developer and manager and held similar roles for iVillage, Vodium, and EStarLight.com.
“We’re fast becoming a much larger company, and we feel that the value added by the kind of experience we’re bringing on will ensure that our growth is just beginning,” said PointRoll CEO Jules Gardner.
The Yellow Pages Integrated Media Association has made Larry Small its director of research.
Small is currently a partner with Boulder, Colo.-based marketing and sales research firm CRM Associates. From 1988 to 2001, he served as VP of marketing services for the Yellow Pages Publishers Association, the predecessor of the YPIMA.
“Larry has a long history with the Association and the industry, and has outstanding relationships with our research providers,” said YPIMA President Neg Norton.
