Juxta builds site for Red Cross New York; Lyris gets Tavis Smiley as a client; DoubleClick wins MySpace.com ad serving business.

Juxta Digital launched a new site for the Greater New York American Red Cross. The redesign adds makes it easier to accept donations, coordinate volunteers, and provide easy registration for events, courses and disaster training. The project was undertaken before hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf coast.

iKnowtion promoted Michael McGuirk to VP of behavioral sciences, a role focused on extracting “consumer insights” for marketing purposes. Prior to joining iKnowtion, McGuirk set up an analytics group for Elm Square Interactive and served as VP of analytic services for Epsilon.

Lyris added PBS talk host Tavis Smiley and the SuccesSoul event, which he hosts, to its client list. The company’s email marketing and list management products will be used to drive event awareness and registrations.

DoubleClick signed MySpace.com as a high-volume DART ad management client. The social network, now owned by News Corp., reported over 9 billion page views in August.

Jumpstart Automotive Media hired Jim Irving as VP of marketing and product management. He was marketing manager with Critical Mass, responsible for the Mercedes Benz online account. Earlier he was with RPA on the Honda/Acura account.

Ad network Intégrent hired Marc Kiven away from Right Media to be its SVP and general manager of network operations. At Right Media, Kiven was SVP of corporate development, promoting the company’s auction-based remnant inventory network to publishers and advertisers. He’ll do the same for Intégrent.

Comparison shopping search engine Smarter.com hired Richard Chino as chief revenue officer. Chino was VP of business planning and operations at Yahoo Search Marketing.

United Virtualities hired Bianca Pimentel as sales director for Latin America. She joins from TeRespondo.com, a Latin American SEM and paid listings provider where she was business development and marketing manager. TeRespondo was acquired by Yahoo in April.

Return Path hired Bill Levine as VP of marketing. Levine was the director of product marketing at Find/SVP. He replaces Jennifer Wilson, who is on maternity leave. She’ll return as VP of corporate communications.

Mother New York, which recently completed interactive work for Virgin Mobile USA, has hired four creative and production staff. They include Susan Corbo, who was most recently with Arnold as a senior creative on Volkswagen of America, and strategist Rob Thorsen, who joins from BBH.
