AOL's MapQuest chooses an agency of record; TiVo names a CMO; ExactTarget licenses e-mail tools to Mighty Interactive.
AOL’s MapQuest tapped TBWAChiatDay in Los Angeles to be its creative agency of record. The branding agency for Apple iTunes and iPod will work with the MapQuest to launch campaigns demonstrating the client’s “helpfulness, reliability, and ease of use” while promoting its location search and mobile services. Campaigns are scheduled for the first half of 2005.
“TBWAChiatDay is renowned for breathtaking creativity and for having major, positive impact on the future success of its clients. We’re trusting them to help us express the MapQuest brand to consumers so that it’s even more needed and loved,” said Tommy McGloin, senior VP and general manager of MapQuest.
TiVo hired Matt Wisk as senior VP and chief marketing officer. Wisk held the CMO post at Herbalife International, a nutritional products giant. He spent nine years with Nokia, eventually becoming VP of marketing for North and South America.
“Matt’s experience in building world class brands, wireless technology and international expansion will enable us to extend our lead in DVR and take us to a new level, positioning us as a leader in home entertainment services,” said TiVo Chairman and CEO Mike Ramsay.
ExactTarget is licensing its email tools to new agency partner Mighty Interactive. The Arizona-based digital marketing firm’s license is the most comprehensive ExactTarget offers, the companies said.
“One of our primary business development strategies is to find high quality interactive agencies in each market, and partner with them,” said Joel Book, ExactTarget’s director of agency partner management. “Mighty Interactive understands the how’s and why’s of email marketing. Their expertise and data-driven approach is a perfect match for our business model.”
DigitalGrit hired Stacy Sherman as senior account manager. Sherman most recently led marketing programs, online and off, for Weichert Realtors. For 11 years before that, she developed campaigns in a variety of media for AT&T’s business and consumer divisions.
