Reuters.com hired Daniel Bernard as its first global head of advertising development, based in New York. Bernard was director of ad development for CBS MarketWatch, and earlier worked for CBS Corporation as a marketing specialist. He will liaise with advertisers to develop custom solutions on Reuters’ network of sites.
True North named Director of Interactive Tim Taylor to head its new West Coast office. Taylor will oversee a staff of five in the new San Francisco location, which will serve Buena Vista Entertainment, ThomasNet.com and David’s Bridal, among other clients.
“San Francisco’s interactive community offers us an incredible pool of talent to tap into and support our history of rich media and innovative interactive thinking,” said True North Chief Creative Officer Tom Goosmann.
Teaming with the American Red Cross, Ask Jeeves built a version of its site at redcross.ask.com to benefit those afflicted by the four hurricanes that hit Florida this season. One hundred percent of profits generated through searches on the site go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which provides shelter, food and counseling to hurricane victims. The new site features the same search technology available at Ask.com.
