AT&T Wireless taps an interactive agency; former director of the Association for Interactive Marketing takes a new post; Builder Homesite signs a three-year ad serving deal.

AT&T Wireless has granted its interactive advertising business to Digitas. The Boston-based agency has already begun work on the account.

Earlier in the Summer, interactive agency Avenue A, a unit of aQuantive, lost its account with AT&T Wireless following management changes at AT&T Wireless. The carrier undertook an agency review, which resulted in its selection of Digitas for most online ad initiatives.

Both companies declined to comment on specific upcoming deployments or the duration of the engagement.

Ben Isaacson, former executive director of the Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM), has taken a post with finanical management consultancy Experian as privacy and compliance leader.

Isaacson has until recently been a principal with The Isaacson Group, an interactive marketing and e-policy consultancy. Prior to that he spent three years as head of AIM, a Direct Marketing Association subsidiary that recently became a source of controversy when the DMA delayed AIM’s proposed guidelines for email marketing.

He also established AIM’s Council for Responsible E-mail, representing email marketers, and continues to serve AIM as a senior advisor.

At Experian, Isaacson will oversee privacy policies and procedures, focusing on the marketing services group. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Builder Homesite, a home builders consortium, has signed a three-year agreement making 24/7 Real Media’s Open AdStream Central its exclusive serving solution for NewHomeSource.com, its Web site for home buyers.

“24/7 Real Media’s… demonstration of the utility of the service along with the economic benefits of Open AdStream convinced us that we made the right choice,” said Stewart Pickard, director of business development for Builder Homesite.

Telenor Mobile Interactive USA, which offers premium SMS services to broadcasters in Europe and the U.S., has hired Reagan Ramsey as EVP of media development and Vanessa Vigar as VP of sales and marketing.

Ramsey most recently served as news director for KGW-TV, the NBC news affiliate in Portland, Oregon. Vigar has launched television channels and new media networks in Europe, the UK and Asia. She was director of sales and marketing at Van Dusseldorp & Partners in the Netherlands, a digital media information and research company.

Premium SMS lets consumers text in votes and comments and participate in polls, creating revenue streams for companies that receive a share of each premium text message sent. The medium has had success in Europe, and Telenor is preparing to push its adaptation in the U.S.

“With European audiences actively participating in television shows using premium text messaging, Telenor has recruited television industry veterans, Reagan Ramsey and Vanessa Vigar to bring that same passion to American viewers,” says Steinar Svalesen, CEO of Telenor.
