Execs & Accounts: IAC, Specific Media, Getfugu, Westwood One

IAC names Kara Nortman SVP of publishing. Nortman was named senior vice president of publishing at IAC-owned Citysearch. She previously served as VP of mergers and acquisitions for IAC, overseeing a number of IAC’s moves in local media including the acquisition of InsiderPages and Urbanspoon. She also oversaw the investment in MerchantCircle, where she currently holds a board seat.

Specific Media Hires two in the West. Leroy Holland was named senior account executive within the San Francisco region for the ad network. Holland held positions at AOL’s Platform-A and Fox interactive Media’s IGN Entertainment. Melissa Holder took on the role of account executive within the San Francisco region. She previously spent four years as a national account executive at Yahoo Hot Jobs.

Ask Jeeves founder joins mobile start-up Getfugu. David Warthen, the founder of Ask Jeeves, now Ask.com, joined Getfugu, an e-commerce search platform. Warthen joins Bernie Stolar, CEO, who most recently served as game evangelist at Google.

Westwood One’s Metro Traffic hires a sales exec. Metro Traffic named Abbe Cherkaui director of digital sales. She previously worked for Clear Channel Katz Advantage, a division of Katz Media Group, where Cherkaoui was vice president and opened the San Francisco office.
