Execs & Accounts: Leo Burnett and Arc, BBDO, Schematic

Leo Burnett and Arc names Kevin Flatt as executive creative director of its digital practice; BBDO Atlanta hires Whitlock Dunbar as senior digital producer.

Leo Burnett and Arc brings in a digital lead. Kevin Flatt joined Leo Burnett and Arc as EVP and executive creative director, digital practice. He will help the creative teams develop their creative vision and advise across all clients. Flatt was most recently executive creative director at Tribal DDB in Chicago. Previously he was executive creative director of interactive at Fallon in Minneapolis, where he built an integrated digital creative offering, including BMW Films.

BBDO Atlanta hires a digital producer. BBDO retained Whitlock Dunbar as senior digital producer; he hails from LBi Atlanta where he was senior interactive producer. Previously Dunbar worked in digital production including editing at CNN, Peachtree Post Productions, and Crawford Communications. At BBDO Atlanta he will help bolster the agency’s digital capabilities working with clients such as REI and ING.

Reliant Energy selects a digital agency of record. Schematic, a WPP company, was selected by Reliant Energy to develop and implement the Houston power company’s next generation interactive initiatives. As digital AOR, Schematic will use its experience in interface design, application development, and large-scale technology integration to deliver a custom-made solution for Reliant’s multi-platform digital program.

Customer reviews come to eBay’s ProStores. The auction site selected PowerReviews to provide medium and small-sized ProStores retailers with online customer reviews. Merchants can use PowerReviews Express, a reviews solution that allows a review snapshot or at-a-glance summary; verified buyer features to build consumer confidence; affinity views that let consumers search for reviews by people with their same likes and dislikes; and content moderation services to be managed by the merchant or a PowerReviews moderator for inflammatory or non-related content.

Sugar adds a sales manager to the pot. Jamie Leilani Pelayo was named sales marketing manager of the online media network Sugar. She will be based in San Francisco and oversee development of network-side sponsorships and integrated marketing packages. Pelayo was previously with the Times Media Group in Los Angeles where she served as marketing manager. Other experience includes working as integrated marketing producer for Vogue.tv, and heading up video content on broadband video platforms Vogue Fashion on Demand for iTunes and ShopVogue.tv.

QuadrantOne hires and promotes employees. Monika Belur was named marketing director for the premium advertiser venture formed by four major media companies. She fills a newly-created position, and previously worked at companies such as the Travel Channel, Discovery, and TLC across consumer, sales, online, and traditional direct marketing channels. In the New York office Kim Ripps was promoted to the position of East Coast sales manager from her previous role of manager of sales development. Stacy Freedman was hired as East Coast account executive, entertainment; Melanie Pursglove joined as Midwest account executive, entertainment; and Sara Ingold began as online ad trafficker. In Chicago, Carolyn Goldfarb joined as sales development manager, central region sales; Jessica Soldner was promoted from sales planner, central to affiliate operations manager; Patrick Wall was hired as sales planner. In Los Angeles Matthew Aporta joined as West Coast account executive, entertainment. The San Francisco office hired Maria Caruso as sales development manager. In Detroit, Danielle Morris joined as sales development manager, central region sales.

Zales puts customer stories on its site. Bazaarvoice Stories is being added to Zales on the destination lovestories.zales.com. The jeweler has already had Bazaarvoice’s Ratings & Reviews on its site for over a year.
