Rapp appointed Craig Daitch to the newly created position of VP, Director of social media The agency says the appointment is intended to continue aggressive expansion in the social media space, in response to client demand. Prior to his new role, Daitch spent time with both Digitas and PHD.
Chad Stoller is leaving his role at digital agency Organic to join fellow Omnicom-owned outfit BBDO as EVP, Director of Strategy for the agency’s North American operations. He will assume the new role starting next week.
Media agency Mediaedge:cia (MEC) has appointed Mark Yesayian to head up its West-Coast digital operation.Based in Seattle, Yesayian will also lead digital teams in MEC’s San Franciso, Los Angeles and Irvine offices, as well as serving on the firm’s North American Executive Committee. He joins from Ogilvy San Francisco where he held the role of Senior Partner, Managing Director.
PointRoll has begun incorporating real-time Twitter feeds in ad units for some of its clients. Most recently, the ad tech-firm did so for a campaign supporting Universal Studios’ movie release Bruno. As well as streaming real-time tweets, users were invited to watch trailers and videos, browse photos, and connect with Bruno through social networking sites within rich media creatives.
Senior Yahoo ad-sales exec David Dickman is leaving the company according to a Boomtown report. The VP of West Coast sales is reportedly moving on to a digital sales role at Time Warner.
Media strategy, planning and activation firm Initiative has restructured its global network and hired a new Worldwide managing director as it seeks to better serve its clients, which include Cadbury, The Home Depot, Hyundai Kia, Rabobank, and Vodafone. Mauricio Sabogal will now oversee global operations, joining from Omnicom Media Group, where he was CEO, Latin America. Janet Fitzpatrick has been appointed to the newly created role of President, worldwide clients, and Karin Baatsch-Deboulet to the position of chief technology catalyst. Finally, Tim Spengler, President of the firm’s U.S. operation has been promoted to President North America, taking on additional responsibility for Canada.
