BlogTalkRadio hires mobile industry veteran Michael Weaver; Chicago-based agency rEvolution acquires Birdsong 3; prout builds a social media campaign for Toyota and MySpace.
Michael Weaver moves to BlogTalkRadio. Weaver, a mobile industry veteran, accepted a role as vice president of mobile strategy for the Web-based radio talk show platform. Weaver has been involved in mobile for close to a decade, and was previously VP of strategy at Crisp Wireless. Prior to that he worked at Microsoft as advertising strategy director for MSN’s Digital Advertising Solutions group, and played a key role in the acquisition of ScreenTonic.
Media agency Revolution acquires Birdsong 3. Birdsong 3 is a digital and youth culture agency; Revolution is an integrated sports marketing and media services agency. Both agencies are located in Chicago.
Toyota widgets spring up from Sprout. Sprout, an agency that helps brands create social media campaigns and widgets, worked with Toyota and MySpace to create “Rock the Space” competition on MySpace. In the competition brands can submit a demo for a chance to win a record contract with MySpace Records.
Ascent Media Group hires three. The integrated creative agency named Emily Keeton, senior vice president, corporate development; Adam Poulter, senior vice president, global sales and account management; and Staci Miller, vice president, strategic initiatives. Keeton joined the agency from Credit Suisse where she was managing director of the investment banking division. Poulter was previously executive commercial director of Red Bee. Miller served as VP of strategy and operations at Warner Bros. Online.
