Execs & Accounts: Microsoft, AdECN, Schematic

AdECN COO Jeff Green stepped down yesterday. His decision to leave the Microsoft-owned online ad exchange comes in the wake of the departure of Michael Rubenstein from DoubleClick’s exchange about a month ago. Google officially launched the DoubleClick exchange in mid-September, following a long beta phase. As the DoubleClick exchange joins Yahoo’s Right Media exchange in a race for dominance, an AdECN spokesperson told ClickZ News that Microsoft and AdECN “are both left in very capable hands and continue to be fully committed to the exchange space.”

WPP-owned multi-platform agency Schematic hired two execs to handle the Target account. From its Minneapolis office, Laura Best will serve as VP client services and will help build out the firm’s market in the region; Michael Kraabel was hired as creative director. Best was recently director, interactive marketing at Ameriprise Financial, and has also worked with Target at creative agency space150. Kraabel previously worked at Gage Group as group creative director on campaigns for 3M, Microsoft, and Symantec.

E-Dialog was chosen to provide e-mail marketing services to JetBlue Airways. The e-mail firm will assist JetBlue with promotional and transactional messaging, and help automate the airline’s data integration, content management, and segmentation processes.

NYC-based digital ad shop Flightpath appointed John Lee to director of digital marketing and analytics. As an SEM strategist, Lee has developed digital marketing campaigns for Cisco, Konica Minolta, and Kyocera.

Teen fashion site Suddenly Darling launched with online ad industry vets in tow. Sales Director Karen Paull has run ad sales teams for SnapFish.com and LifeScript.com. Senior Business Adviser Andy Jedynak once led WeatherBug’s advertising sales group. The new site will offer standard display units, video ads, roadblocks, and integrated campaigns.

Scripps Networks has partnered with syndication platform 5min. Scripps will now sell 5min ad inventory in home and food related content, while 5min will include its videos on Scripps sites.

MySpace appointed Mark Rosenbaum as CFO. Reporting to MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta, Rosenbaum is charged with overseeing all finance and accounting operations. Rosenbaum most recently was a business and financial consultant to MGM; before that he was SVP corporate finance at Gemstar-TV Guide.

Siegel + Gale redesigned the Web site for a Care Support of America. The new site, part of a broader rebranding effort, includes new tools and information insights for people supporting elder relatives or overseeing their care.
