MKTG expands duties for Charlie Horsey; Derek Mabie joins Moosylvania; Digg hires Yahoo's Tom Shin.
Charlie Horsey was given an additional role at mktg. The New York-based alternative media and marketing services agency named Horsey chief operating officer. He will continue to serve as division president of mktg’s services, which encompasses experiential marketing, digital marketing, and creative services.
Derek Mabie joined Moosylvania. He was named director of search analytics at the digital, branding, and promotion firm. Previously Mabie was senior interactive product manager at a global travel and hospitality agency.
Digg snagged Yahoo Mail executive. Thomas Shin was hired to lead advertising sales and revenue at Digg. He spent over seven years in sales and product marketing positions at Yahoo, most recently as executive director of Northwest sales.
Cactus was selected as agency of record by Denver Theater Company. Denver-based ad agency Cactus works on all aspects of advertising and design including interactive.
Buddy Media opens an office in the Windy City. Alicia Driskill was appointed Midwest sales director at the media company that specializes in branded social media applications. Driskill was most recently at TVGuide.com, where she also covered the Midwest region.
Giant Realm signs with Canada’s UpTrend Media. UpTrend Media will represent Giant Realm’s premium online inventory in the Canadian marketplace, and will focus on executing custom campaigns for marketers. Giant Realms published sites such as FirstShowing.net, ShackNews, GameRiot and other entertainment-focused media sites aimed at men, 18 to 34.
Financial Times deployed Bango mobile analytics on its new mobile site. Financial Times is also using Bango’s identifier technology where a user’s preferences are stored in their FT.com profile, so when they return they can get a personalized experience.
Intuit selected AOL’s Platform-A. Intuit will use Platform-A to reach consumers via custom advertising and distribution through MediaGlow. The partnership is timed for tax season to advertise Intuit’s TurboTax software.
CitizenHawk added a new citizen to its executive team. Brody Stout was named chief operating officer. Previously Stout was a senior associate at Maveron, a venture capital firm.
Mojiva hired two new executives. Julie Preis, vice president of product marketing, was previously at Zentropy Interactive, a Web development group based in Los Angeles. After Zentropy she co-founded an interactive television company called Mixed Signals Technologies. Most recently Preis was GM of Ansible Mobile. Tim Cronin, vice president of business development, began his advertising career at Nikkea Group and then JWT. Cronin was an early team member of DoubleClick.
