News Corp made several appointments in its renamed digital publishing operating unit. News Corp Digital Media (NDM) includes MySpace, IGN Entertainment, Fox Audience Network, Photobucket, Beliefnet, and Fox Mobile Group. All were previously organized under the Fox Interactive Media umbrella.
Among NDM’s new executives are Dan Fawcett, general counsel and EVP of business affairs; Jack Kennedy, EVP of operations; Jorge Espinel, EVP of strategy and corporate development; and Hemu Nigam, SVP of safety, security and privacy. At MySpace, Alex Maghen was appointed chief technology officer.
Appssavvy hired seven new employees to its direct sales team for social media ads. The appointments, including Rob Holiber as director of East Coast sales and three directors of West Coast sales, bring appssavvy’s employee total to more than 25.
Pereira & O’Dell hired Kash Sree as executive creative director. Most recently an ECD at JWT, Sree has worked on Axe, British Airways, DeBeers, and Kleenex. He is based in New York.
Razorfish promoted Ray Velez to global chief technology officer, a new position. A 10-year employee, Velez was previously a national discipline lead for the Razorfish technology practice, and he worked directly on accounts such as Ford, Conde Nast and the National Football League. He is based in New York.
2ergo hired John Orlando as managing director of the Americas. He’ll be based in the company’s New York office. The mobile enablement and marketing firm’s clients include O2, Yahoo, FOX News, National Geographic Channel, Rightmove, Microsoft, and AT&T.
