Orbitz hires CMO; Island Def Jam retains Quattro Wireless, and Organic names a new VP of marketing.
Orbitz Worldwide named Jeffrey Davidoff chief marketing officer. Davidoff, who will also have an SVP title, will be responsible for the company’s online and offline global portfolio of online travel brands. Previously Davidoff was VP of brand marketing and communications at Whirlpool. Prior to Whirlpool he was a founding member of Upshot, a marketing agency based in Chicago.
Island Def Jam selected Quattro Wireless to power its mobile Web site. Quattro will act as Island’s exclusive WAP ad partner. The label plans to monetize its artists’ mobile sites such as Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Kanye West, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, and Bon Jovi.
Organic named Randi Barshack VP of marketing. Barshack was previously VP of worldwide marketing at Mercado. She also worked in product marketing, lead generation, PR, artist relations, and marketing communications. Before Mercado she was director of marketing at Silicon Graphics.
Virilion built a new Web site for UNICEF to support the UNICEF Snowflake holiday campaign. Unicefsnowflake.org features an interactive model of the 16,000-crystal UNICEF snowflake originally engineered by the renowned lighting designer Ingo Maurer in collaboration with crystal-maker Baccarat.
Catalyst Direct hired Dustin McAdams as chief information officer. McAdams most recently served as VP of information technology at Aspen Marketing, where he led the organization’s digital and marketing automation capabilities. He has held management positions at MultiAd and ChoicePoint Precision Marketing.
