Platform-A increases regional sales focus; Digitas hires creative SVP, wins Kaiser business; T3 promotes Bryan Nouguchi.
Platform-A restructures, promotes Maccaro to lead New York sales. Chris Maccaro, who has logged six years with AOL, will lead an expanded regional sales team. His promotion is part of a restructuring crafted by new Platform-A President Greg Coleman. In other changes, the AOL unit will disband its property and category sales teams and strengthen its focus on regional sales. “Both teams were instrumental in providing vertical focus and sales pressure over the past year, but there is a more urgent need now to drive direct advertiser demand and relationships,” Coleman said. Additionally, VP Northeast Region Brent Spitzer will leave the company.
Digitas hires Thomas Tafuto as SVP of creative. Tafuto joins from Tribal DDB Worldwide, where he was executive creative director working on Nokia, Bud Light, American Airlines, ExxonMobil, and Starbucks, among others.
Digitas wins agency of record status for Kaiser Permanente. Speaking of Digitas, the agency was tapped to provide strategic direction and execute direct marketing and digital campaigns for Kaiser Permanente. Digitas will strengthen Kaiser Permanente’s “Thrive” advertising campaign, which launched in 2004.
T3’s Nouguchi is promoted. Bryan Noguchi was named vice president, executive media director at T3, an integrated marketing agency. Before joining T3 in 2008 he was VP, group media director at Grey Worldwide.
Kontera opens offices in several cities.
The in-text advertising and information platform opened new locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta.
Purple@Epsilon hires a new GM. Andrew Bast joined Purple@Epsilon as SVP, general manager. His previous experience includes work at Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare Communications and its sibling agency Glow Worm on brands such as Nexium, Prilosec, and Amitiza.
Nokia executive defects to MyScreen. Maurizio Angelone was appointed CEO of MyScreen, and will also sit on its board of directors. He previously spent 15 years with Nokia in senior executive roles, most recently as global account head for Nokia’s customer Telefonica S.A.
Kelliher Samets Volk hires an interactive producer.
Stephanie Warner will help lead digital projects for clients managed in the agency’s Boston and New York offices, while based in the Burlington office.
Offerpal Media names Bill Lonergan CFO.
Lonergan was CFO of Blue Lithium, and oversaw the company’s acquisition by Yahoo. Prior to that he was CFO of LookSmart, and spent time at Tacit Software.
