Platform-A adds sales execs in the Midwest; SanDisk taps Publicis & Hal Riney as agency of record; Specific Media hires Ford marketing vet Jon Schulz.
AOL’s Platform-A added sales execs in Chicago and Detroit in an expansion of its Midwest operations. Rick Simmons becomes VP of sales after three years with AOL Media Networks; Craig Schumacher, formerly of Yahoo, joins as regional sales director; and Tina Ienna, previously in sales with AOL and Sports Illustrated, becomes regional VP in charge of Platform-A’s Detroit office.
SanDisk named Publicis & Hal Riney its agency of record, including digital duties. The assignment covers overall strategy, creative and “brand stewardship.” The flash memory manufacturer is planning consumer campaigns in interactive, TV, print, and outdoor channels.
Ad network Specific Media hired Jon Schulz as SVP, global category development. Schulz joins from Ford Motor Company, where he held various roles over the course of 12 years. He was most recently head of digital and direct marketing.
Seattle-based Visible Technologies, which provides social media measurement services, added Rowland Hanson to its advisory board. Rowland is a veteran of Microsoft’s brand marketing efforts, and was involved in the launch of Windows.
Brooklyn interactive agency Domani Studios opened an office in Chicago. Greg Lanier, a former director at Sapient, was named general manager and vice president of the new office.
Classifieds site Oodle tapped Coremetrics to fill its reporting and segmentation needs. The companies emphasized Coremetrics’s customization services.
