Execs & Accounts: Publicis, Euro RSCG, Red Bricks Media

Publicis establishes the position of integrated production director. Chris Berger joined Publicis New York as VP, integrated production director, a newly-created position. He was previously at JWT, where he was experience director. He started at JWT in 2006 and was part of an integrated team that developed digital capabilities and integrated advertising campaigns. Prior to JWT, Berger was executive producer of interactive at Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

Steven Topper turns to Euro RSCG Discovery Group.Topper was named marketing director, and will be based Euro RSCG’s Chicago office, though he will play an active role in all three of the agency’s locations, including the offices in Wilton, CT, and Richmond, VA. Topper previously served as a strategic consultant for Experian where his primary focus was to support new business development and account growth. He has held positions at Analytic Innovations, DraftFDB Chicago, and Allant Group, and founded and managed HybridCapital.

Red Bricks Media hired Joe Van Remortel. Van Remortel, VP of business development, will be based in the agency’s San Francisco office. Van Remortel was most recently senior vice president and managing director at Moxie Interactive, and MD at Wirestone prior to that. He also served as group director of Organic in the past, where he developed relationships with Yahoo, Beeing, Napster, HP, and Intuit.

Michael Knott joined Mediasmith as group media director. Knott was brought in to handle the agency’s growing client businesses. He was most recently at DraftFCB San Francisco, where he was VP, group media director. Prior to DraftFCB he spent time at agencies including Foot Cone & Belding and Tribal DDB in New York City.

Empower MediaMarketing expanded its digital team. Kristyn Pulford, digital strategist, was previously at Yahoo in Michigan, where she was a senior account manager. Before Yahoo Pulford was an account executive at BBDO Detroit. Ilona Vijnik, digital analytics and search strategist, joined Empower from DMinSite, an e-commerce catalog support provider where she was an account director. She also worked as an e-commerce marketing consultant.

Mitchell 1 selected Marchex. Mitchell 1, which develops software applications for automotive repair shops, turned to Marchex to provide to provide call tracking and analytics tools.

Message Systems named Dave Lewis CMO. Lewis was previously the VP of marketing for Bizanga, and before that was responsible for market and product strategy at StrongMail.

G.A.P. Adventures joined the Travel Ad Network. The travel adventure company will fit in TAN’s travel category of sites.

Break Media hired a senior director, sales, in the Midwest. Michael Ziegler, who was named to the post, came to Break from Yahoo where he was national director of accounts.
