R/GA promotes Dave Edwards to group director of mobile; Tumri selects Digital Element for geotargeting; Pluris names Diane Lucero strategic relationship manager.
R/GA promotes Dave Edwards to group director of mobile; Tumri selects Digital Element for geotargeting; Pluris names Diane Lucero strategic relationship manager.
R/GA promotes in its mobile group. Dave Edwards was promoted to group director, mobile, a newly-created global role. Edwards will support Richard Ting, VP and executive creative director, mobile and emerging platforms, who will continue to head the offering while Edwards focuses on mobile business development for existing and new clients. Edwards joined R/GA in 2005 as an account director, prior to which he was VP at MRM Worldwide.
VideoEgg hatches in Atlanta. The rich media ad network opened a sales office in Atlanta, its seventh office in North America, and hired new executives to support the global sales team. New executives include Sean Cauley in Chicago, Katie Barrett in New York, and Daryl Faulkner in Montreal. In the Southeast VideoEgg hired Shelley Gosney to lead the Atlanta office as Southeast sales manager. Gosney was previously strategic sales director for Endemic Media, the online advertising sales firm for American Express Publishing. She was also the strategic sales manager for DoubleClick’s Online Media Sales division, where she managed the company’s regional sales office in Texas.
Buddy Media enhances Intel’s Me InTru3D Facebook app. Using the app, users create and customize a monster in the Intel lab, then have several social options for interacting with their friends and their friends’ creatures in the campaign.
Pluris hires a relationship manager. Diane Lucero was appointed strategic relationship manager for the direct marketing firm. Previously she was VP of major accounts for the business-to-consumer and business-to-business divisions at Abacus, a unit of Epsilon.
SmartBrief expands its New York office. SmartBrief hired Thomas O’Brien as corporate sales director. O’Brien has sold print and interactive at Conde Nast and Time Warner, and was most recently publisher of History Channel magazine.
Political blog Talking Points Memo hires ex-Yahoo Rinaldo. Former Yahoo ad sales executive Diane Rinaldo will build and lead an in-house sales team for New York-based TPM, according to a report by PaidContent.
Active Marketing Group promotes two. Rich Abend was promoted to vice president of integrated marketing, and David Irish to VP of sampling and promotional sales. Abend was previously vice president of business development, and has been with AMG for three years.
TidalTV promotes and hires in sales. The online video advertising network promoted Steven Sackey and hired Brad Phillips. Sackey, VP, national advertising sales, was previously VP of business development and helped secure roughly 50 premium content relationships on the TidalTV.com destination site. He previously worked as director of sales strategy for the Northeast and Midwest at Advertising.com. Phillips, sales account executive, joined TidalTV from NBC Universal, where he was account manager. Before that he was a media planner at Carat in New York.
AdGent 007 enters an online ad sales agreement with Conde Nast Digital. Under the agreement AdGent 007 will sell online ads outside of North America for Wired.com, Style.com, and Men.Style.com.
Tumri selects Digital Element to support geotargeting. Dynamic display ad solution company Tumri will use Digital Element’s NetAcuity geotargeting technology to allow advertisers to reach consumers with highly-targeted display ads.
