Starcom overhauls its research and analytics group; Isobar promotes two; Microsoft hires a new search scientist; Jon Miller could be headed to Fox.
Starcom USA revamps its research and analytics group. The team encompasses three disciplines: research, analytics, and development. John Lowell was selected to lead the group as vice president and director of research and analytics. He was previously VP, director of captivation. And before Starcom he was president, director of innovation at Arc Worldwide.
Isobar promotes from its Molecular unit. Darryl Gehly was named executive vice president at Isobar; he previously served as EVP. Gehly joined Molecular in 1995 and previously served as associate publisher at the Journal of Electronic Defense.
Scott Savitt was named senior vice president at Molecular, filling Gehly spot. Savitt will focus on helping brands leverage revenue-generating and customer engagement across the digital channel. He is a member of the Boston Interactive Media Association, the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
Microsoft recruits another search Yahoo. Microsoft hired Jan Pedersen as chief scientist of Live Search, reported Paid Content. Pedersen worked at Amazon.com on its a9.com search engine, and spent several years as chief scientist for the search and advertising technology group at Yahoo.
Is former AOL CEO Jon Miller heading to FIM? Jon Miller is close to accepting a high-ranking role at Fox Interactive Media heading digital strategy, according to published reports. Since leaving his post at AOL in 2006 Miller has been a partner at investment firm Velocity Interactive Group, which he formed.
Tribal DDB has a CEO switch-up. Worldwide CEO Paul Gunning took over U.S. CEO and global CMO Liz Ross’ post. She will exit the Omnicom unit, several sources reported. The move is said to be one to make the agency more efficient and become more cost-saving.
Creative team joins Pereira & O’Dell. Jaime Robinson and Lauren Harwell joined the agency as associate creative directors. The team has partnered for close to five years, originally joining at TBWA Chiat Day San Francisco, then working at Evolution Bureau (EVB). The two will work together on integrated campaigns.
