Execs & Accounts: Starcom MediaVest, Avenue A/Razorfish

Starcom MediaVest Group CEO Renetta McCann is preparing to take a sabbatical from the marketing industry. Laura Desmond , currently CEO of SMG Americas, will take her boss’s job for a year. McCann has been CEO of SMG since 2005, and was CEO of SMG of the Americas prior to that.

Avenue A/Razorfish named Hans Neubert executive creative director and Marc Lucas group creative director. Neubert was MD and creative leader at VSA Partners and executive creative director at Red Sky Interactive before that. Lucas previously served as chairman of the Hong Kong 4A’s and was co-chairman of the Asian Advertising Awards. Lucas was VP and creative director at SS+ K.

HopStop selected Ringleader Digital to serve ads on its mobile Web site. Ringleader will serve location-based ads to mobile users looking for map and public transportation directions.

Alloy Access will partner with Real Content Group to deliver targeted mobile marketing solutions. Alloy Access, a unit of Alloy Media + Marketing, and Real Content Group, will target urban and multicultural audiences.

AOL’s Platform-A has joined PointRoll’s Included program. Under the long-running program, publishers and ad networks offer advertisers Pointroll placements at the cost of non-rich ad units.

Alexandra Aleskovsky was named GM and senior vice president of online media properties at Kaboose. Akeskovsky was previously chief marketing officer of ClubMom, and general manager and SVP of iVillage. Most recently she was SVP of WeightWatchers.com.

Jim Larrison was promoted to EVP of platform sales and services. He was previously the GM of corporate development. In his new role he is expected to drive adoption of Adify’s vertical ad network management platform and integrated services.

Cozi selected StrongMail Systems to provide on-premise marketing and transactional e-mail. Cozi provides free online shared calendar and scheduling services for families.

Bebo and Universal Music U.K. partnered to create an online drama “The Secret World of Sam King.”

BGT Partners hired a handful of executives. Sabrina Wall, project manager of online marketing, was previously a supervisor and project manager at Hostway. Maya Glazer, online marketing specialist, was previously an account development manager at Beyond ROI. Other new hires include Tara McGrath and Jorge Hammal.
