Telemundo Communications Group named Peter Blacker EVP, digital media and emerging businesses. He’ll have oversight of all the U.S.-focused Hispanic media company’s interactive platforms, including Yahoo! Telemundo, holamun2.com, International Digital Media, and Telemundo Emerging Platforms.
Digitas promoted Glenn Engler to president of its Boston headquarters with additional oversight of the Detroit and Atlanta outposts. He was previously EVP and headed the agency’s General Motors and XM Radio accounts, which he will continue to lead. He replaces Torrence Boone, who left to head up WPP’s new agency supporting Dell’s worldwide creative and marketing strategy account.
Glam Media hired Christine McNicholas as VP of sales for the Midwest region. She previously held senior roles with Dotomi and Q Interactive.
Alpha Media Group tapped Steak to handle search marketing for its Maxim and Blender titles. Steak’s Mark Schwartz, who recently joined as VP of business development, secured the new business.
Six executives were promoted at WPP’s 24/7 Real Media. Ari Bluman was bumped up to president of North American sales and operations. Kris Heinrichs was named chief financial officer. Jon Greenwood was promoted to corporate VP of global operations. Brian Lesser is now general manager of the Media Innovation Group, and will lead 24/7 Real Media’s high-level initiatives within the agency community. Nicole Pangis was named VP of global media and technology product management. Irene Bondar was promoted to VP of product development.
Team Detroit was named agency of record for Compuware Corporation. Team Detroit, a WPP unit, will work to develop a corporate brand image campaign in support of the company’s positioning: We Make I.T. Rock Around the World. The campaign will be supported through online and other channels.
Critical Mass appointed Erik Thrane group account director. Thrane was previously SVP and interactive business director at Publicis. He also co-founded the interactive division at Young & Rubicam Canada, where he worked for eight years and served as the division’s director. Thrane will work out of the agency’s Toronto office; Critical Mass is Omnicom’s digital marketing agency.
Trulia will make real estate listings available to mobile users with the help of Lightpole’s mobile platform. The service will be available as a channel on Lightpole.
