Solbright tapped by SportsLine.com for ad sales and production; L90 to manage New York Daily News consumer databases; Point.Roll hires James Lavelle as director of sales.

Solbright, a provider of workflow automation for the digital advertising industry, has been tapped by SportsLine.com to manage online ad sales, production, and billing operations.

SportsLine.com is one of the first companies to benefit from Solbright’s strategic partnership with DoubleClick . As a mutual customer of Solbright’s AdSuite and DoubleClick’s DART systems, SportsLine.com’s ad management system will integrate AdSuite’s sales and production functions with the delivery and reporting tools offered with DART.

L90 has been named the new list manager for the New York Daily News consumer databases. L90 will begin management of all the paper’s consumer databases, including an active subscriber list; a contest entrants list; and a combined list of active subscribers, contest entrants and expired subscribers. In total, these databases represent approximately 150,000 New York area consumers.

Britt Vatne, L90’s vice president of list management, said, “These lists can be leveraged individually or as a combined database, giving mailers a profitable source of names and maximizing their reach into the New York area.”

Point.Roll, a rich media technology firm, has added James Lavelle to its executive team as director of sales. Lavelle will be responsible for bringing in deals from direct clients and agencies and for introducing Point.Roll’s Certified Publisher program. Levelle’s most recent post was at Point.Roll competitor Enliven, where he sold to clients such as Proctor & Gamble , Amex and Bristol Myers Squibb . He was also involved in the development of new video and rich media products.

“I was very impressed with Point.Roll’s aggressiveness, their ability to grab market share and become a leader in mouseover expanding ads,” Lavelle said.

Imagistic, a design firm focused on e-business, has appointed Patricia Tay to a newly-created position on its sales and business development team. As senior business development associate, she will oversee lead generation and prospecting, sales cycle management and product marketing. Tay joins imagistic from enterprise solutions provider divine, where she managed Western region field marketing. Prior to that, she managed business development in the Southwest region for marchFirst, and also worked in business development with Zentropy Partners. Tay’s earlier experience includes sales roles with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and magazines such as Upside and New Media.

High Road Communications, a full-service public relations agency serving North American technology firms, will employ Nick Malaperiman as a senior consultant to its new interactive entertainment group. Malaperiman joins High Road from Electronic Arts, where he managed global product launches within the EA Sports brand. He also worked as a public relations manager and video game producer with the company.

High Road’s new division will serve gaming, home theatre, Web-delivered music and Online entertainment businesses. High Road’s experience in this market includes work with Microsoft’s Xbox, J!ve Media, Eatsleepmusic.com and Multimedia Network Computer.

Public relations firm Impact Communications has changed its name to Schuerman Communications, reflecting the surname of the firm’s founder and Principal JP Schuerman.

“It only made sense to build the company’s brand on my own name versus an arbitrary company name,” said Schuerman. “Especially in light of the growth we continue to enjoy.”
