Agency.com acquires assets and clients of digital marketer Overture hires a new and senior VP to its affiliate business group

Agency.com has acquired from Mobilocity certain assets of digital marketer As part of the aquisition, Agency.com will pick up existing The once-prestigious company was originally acquired by Mobilocity in February 2002, after hiring restructuring specialists Recognition Group to shop its assets during a period of quiet belt-tightening. .

Financial details of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.

“We’re very pleased to support the continued delivery of great Web sites and interactive solutions for Paid search listings provider Overture has hired a new general manager and senior vice president for its affiliate business group. William Demas will lead the company’s affiliate distribution network, which includes search destination sites MSN, Yahoo and Lycos.

Demas replaces John Gentry, who has filled the role since 1999 and will be leaving the company to pursue other interests, the company said. Overture said Gentry will continue to advise the company on strategy, mergers and acquisitions and affiliate-related business issues through 2002.

“We are sorry to see John leave Overture,” said Jaynie Studenmund, chief operating officer. “Over the past three years, he has done an outstanding job in building our distribution network. John has [established] a strong foundation for Bill to build upon.”

Before joining Overture, Demas served as executive VP of product development and marketing for Vividence and held a variety of roles during a six year stint with Microsoft .

Interactive shop space150 has launched an Amish-themed Web site for post-production facility Hi-Wire. The site, which is a second generation version of the Hi-Wire’s Amish motif, includes “tech-Amish” characters that personalize each area of the site.

Users follow an Amish family on their journey from farm to big city, undertaken via spaceship. Arriving at Hi-Wire, the Amish characters embark on tech careers. One key feature is a “cyber cow” that helps users view the latest Hi-Wire projects.
