Execs and Accounts for February 7, 2003

The Microsoft site formerly known as Carpoint.ca has become MSN Autos Canada, as part of an effort to unify the MSN brands and reinforce the site’s position as the automotive channel of MSN. The change reflects a similar strategy undertaken by MSN internationally to unify channels under the MSN brand.

“As the dedicated automotive channel on MSN for more than seven years in the United States and two years in Canada, we see our evolution to MSN Autos Canada as a natural step,” said Ruth D’Souza, general manager of MSN Autos Canada. “By unifying around and further leveraging the strong MSN brand, we are demonstrating our ongoing commitment to consumers and to our advertising partners to be the premier online destination for automotive research, buying services and ownership services.”

With more than 800,000 unique monthly visitors, MSN Autos Canada is part of the largest global network of online automotive Web sites. The bilingual site is an independent, all-makes, all-models resource that provides consumers with a range of services to choose their desired vehicle.

Search engine marketing firm MoreVisibility.com said it inked 44 new clients during the fourth quarter of 2002, including Yokogawa, Grey Interactive, Pedigree Dog Food and Kurt Salmon Associates. The account wins bring MoreVisibility’s client list up to more than 400, according to the firm.

MoreVisibility’s clients also include American Standard, Sony Disc Manufacturing, Metropolitan Museum of Art, GoArmy.com and Sears Hardware.

Six Continents Hotels, which operates the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites brands, has launched an online auction site for its members at www.priorityclub.com/auction.

The Priority Club Rewards Auction lets members use program points to bid on everything from tickets to exclusive events and concerts, electronics, sporting equipment, and memorabilia. The site was developed by the BEN Marketing Group in conjunction with eBay.
