Execs and Accounts for July 15, 2002

Organic adds Paul Roberts to its Detroit office; 360i picks up 36 clients in the first half of 2002; Symantec launches online marketing tool for partners.

Web design and development firm Organic has added Paul Roberts to its Detroit office as vice president and managing director. Roberts’ last role was in the Dallas office of Rare Medium, where he was executive vice president of Rare’s Internet solutions group. Before that he was senior vice president and national director of Micro Modeling Associates’ Internet division.

In his new post, Roberts will spearhead the office’s business development initiatives and offer strategic insight to the such Detroit-based clients as DaimlerChrysler, Domino’s Pizza and Dow Automotive.

“Over the past year, Organic’s Detroit office has experienced accelerated growth in automotive and other key vertical markets,” said Mark Kingdon, chief executive officer of Organic. “The deep experience Paul brings in interactive strategy will be a tremendous help in servicing Detroit based clients.”

Digital marketer 360i picked up 36 new clients in the first half of 2002. Among the larger clients are Bank of America, BBC Worldwide Americas, GMAC Bank, and the Sonic Air division of UPS Logistics Group.

“Our [proficiency] in search engine marketing and interactive marketing has attracted these new clients to us and helped us weather the economic storm that other agencies are still feeling the effects of,” said Bryan Kujawski, president and account director.

Web security firm Symantec has launched an online tool that provides Symantec partners with marketing materials for their own campaigns. Called PartnerPromos, the tool is an add-on to PartnerNet, Symantec’s online resource for its partners, which provides security-related information and tools. The PartnerPromos site includes a tool called PartnerMarketing, which enables partners to send email and traditional direct marketing materials. For a limited time Symantec will cover the cost of some mailings.

“These newest enhancements to PartnerNet ensure that partners have the most current information on promotions and product information, enabling them to successfully sell Symantec’s integrated security solutions,” said Allyson Seelinger, vice president of North American enterprise and consumer channels for Symantec.
