Execs and Accounts for June 12, 2002

Millward Brown makes two executive hires; Wunderman tapped by Pfizer to provide strategic thinking and database services; CCMR Advertising/Marketing Communications adds Kolleen Grattan to its management team.

Millward Brown has hired Gordon Wyner as executive vice president of North American strategy and Mary Ann Packo as executive vice president, chief client and marketing officer.

Wyner will consult with Millward Brown clients, lead strategic product development and manage the company’s marketing sciences team in North America. Prior to his appointment, Wyner was vice president of the customer strategy team for Mercer Management Consulting. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the executive committee of the Marketing Science Institute.

Mary Ann Packo will be responsible for Millward Brown client service and business development activities in the US. In addition, she will lead the company’s North American marketing efforts. Prior to joining Millward Brown, Packo was president of Media Metrix and group president of its successor company, Jupiter Media Metrix .

Wunderman has been tapped by Pfizer to provide strategic thinking and database services, as well as online and offline creative development, for the Pfizer for Living program. Pfizer for Living, now in its fifth year, is a free interactive program providing interactive health tools and healthcare information on various topics.

“The Pfizer win is particularly sweet for us since it sits at the confluence of our pharmaceutical expertise and our relationship marketing expertise,” said David Sable, president and CEO of Wunderman New York. “Bringing both to bear is exciting for us.”

Full-service marketing firm CCMR Advertising/Marketing Communications has added Kolleen Grattan to its management team as vice president of marketing and public relations. Grattan comes to the Kingston, New York-based agency from Montana, where she was vice president of account services for a regional agency. Prior to that, she headed up her own public relations and marketing consulting firm, K.G. Communications, in Ottawa, Canada.

Peter Michos, managing director of CCMR, stated, “Kolleen has an impressive breadth and depth of experience on both the advertising and public relations side of the business.”

J.D. Edwards & Company has formed a partnership with Aprimo to combine its CRM applications with Aprimo’s enterprise marketing tools. The deal will allow J.D. Edwards customers to evaluate their marketing strategies and determine where and under what circumstances specific tactics yield a justifiable ROI, extending their campaign analysis beyond the standard functionality that it offers now.

“This partnership is instrumental for J.D. Edwards as it continues to expand its CRM offerings,” said Joel Reed, director of CRM marketing for J.D. Edwards. “Aprimo’s applications will allow us to provide enterprises more in-depth marketing and customer management functions integrated into the back end.”

In addition to integrating to the J.D. Edwards CRM solution, Aprimo will incorporate J.D. Edwards enterprise resource planning functions for its own customers’ use. Marketing budgets, invoices, committed funds and forecast expenses will be shared between both solutions. Under terms of the partnership, both companies will market and promote the respective integrated products separately.

Huntington National Bank has launched a new interactive demonstration geared toward showcasing Huntington’s online banking service for prospective customers. The demonstration, created by Atlanta-based interactive services firm Atomic Fusion, spotlights three sample customers, including a growing family, a young couple and an empty-nester.
