AltaVista has appointed Chris Marrow and Chris Hulse to its Internet division’s domestic sales team. Marrow has been named managing director of sales for the Western U.S. region and Hulse will fill the same role for the Eastern U.S. Both are responsible for managing major accounts and regional sales teams, as well as driving ad and sponsorship revenue across AltaVista.com.
Marrow’s last post was at Digital Envoy, where he was West Coast sales director. Previously, he was national vice president of sales and business development for Respond.com and Northwest vice president of sales for Engage . He began his career in sales with Ziff Davis. Hulse most recently serving as a sales director for BrandAid Marketing. Prior to that, he was senior director for East Coast sales with Engage’s Media division, having joined Flycast prior to its acquisition by Engage.
Restoration Hardware has tapped Fort Point Partners to build an e-commerce platform that enables customers to purchase goods and services online. Fort Point Partners is using a rapid deployment methodology, including a compressed planning stage, to launch in parallel with Restoration Hardware’s spring sales and marketing initiatives.
The site will offer catalog browsing, search, order processing, registration, administration, reporting, merchandising, and personalization tools. The news follows an announcement last week that Restoration Hardware picked NextLeft to develop its new online identity.
