Execs and Accounts for March 8

Creative shop Deutsch NY makes an appointment to its Revlon account; Hollister gets a new Web presence; and New Moon Media adds a top branding expert to its staff.

Creative shop Deutsch NY has hired Karen Ellis as senior vice president, group creative director. Most recently, Ellis was owner of Company K, which handled advertising and identity branding for clients such as The Limited, Coty for Isabella Rossellini’s Manifesto, and Heavy.com. Before that, she was at McCann-Erickson as lead creative for the firm’s L’Oreal account. She also worked on the Avon brand while with N.W.Ayer, and on the client side at Estie Lauder, Cignal, and Webster Clothes. Additionally, Ellis has worked with artists Roy Lichtenstein and Robert Rauschenberg, and she designed “Torero,” a collection of works by fashion photographer Ruven Afanador.

Deutsch said Ellis would be a key player in the agency’s business with Revlon. Revlon, which initially awarded Deutsch the Almay brand in 2001, consolidated the entire Revlon marketing account with the agency in January.

visionbox has launched a new corporate site for healthcare product manufacturer Hollister. The project is a complete redesign of Hollister’s online presence, including a proprietary content management system and the capability for future multi-language, country-specific development. So far, visionbox has launched the corporate site along with sites for Hollister in the United States and Germany.

Interactive shop New Moon Media has added Lindon Gray Leader to its executive creative team. Leader’s last role was that of executive creative director at Addison San Francisco, where he led corporate identity assignments for Hawaiian Airlines, Intelsat and Progress Energy. Before that he was at Bass/Yager Associates, Los Angeles, where he served as design director for the Los Angeles Olympic organizing committee before owning a design office in Pasadena for several years.
