26% of all Germans aged 14 and upwards are now using tablets compared to just 13% towards the end of 2012, new data has revealed, highlighting the impact of digital technology on the lifestyles of consumers.
Based on a survey of 1370 consumers, the research from technology manufacturers Bitkom shows that one in four German citizen now uses a tablet, with the age group 30-49 being the most avid users of the technology with 34% penetration.
The 18 million individuals now predicted to use a tablet presents a opportunity for German and international companies looking to target consumers in the country and again emphasises the importance of ensuring sites are optimised for all mobile devices, lest consumers be put off.
