Burlingame, CA-based consumer and business borrower marketplace GetSmart.com launched a national TV advertising campaign to continue to broaden brand awareness of its loan shopping site.

The “Better Way To Get Money” campaign is the first major media push for GetSmart.com since the company’s acquisition by Providian Financial Corp. in February. The campaign will air nationally on key primetime cable programs and in prime time slots with network stations in major Northeastern markets. A radio campaign will run concurrently in strategic markets in support of the TV initiative.

The creative for the television and radio spots was developed by New York-based Welch Nehlen Groome. Billings and spending on the campaign were not disclosed.

“We see this advertising campaign as a milestone for GetSmart,” said Stephen Semprevivo, president of GetSmart.com. “This is the beginning of a long-term advertising commitment which supports our efforts to maintain market leadership in the online borrowing category.”

GetSmart.com provides loan information and connections to hundreds of lenders for home loans, credit cards, debt consolidation products, auto loans and leases, student loans and small business financing.
