Thomson Interactive Media (TIM) said it was selected by Guy Gannett Communications to publish the Internet classified ads for the Portland Press Herald and the Maine Sunday Telegram (The Portland Newspapers).
TIM already hosts ads for the Houston Chronicle, The Tampa Tribune and New York’s Newsday.
The company said it will also provide associated consulting services for The Portland Newspapers. For the classifieds, TIM will employ its flagship Classified IQ product, providing the Press Herald and Sunday Telegram with their own private branded, regional Internet classified network, known as “Maine Classified.” Financial terms were not disclosed.
“We’ve invested a great deal of time and resources in the development of our online presence, so our selection of TIM was based on our own experience on the front lines of the Internet,” said Willard Colston, vice president of new media strategies for Guy Gannett Communications. “That experience told us that TIM is our best choice for online classifieds. Their team is responsive to our needs, and they give us confidence that TIM will be able to help us generate profits online.”
