Wieden & Kennedy has been selected as the advertising agency for HomeGrocer.com, an integrated online grocer and delivery service.
Wieden & Kennedy will be responsible for a major brand campaign to launch Internet grocer’s national expansion.
Billings were not disclosed.
“It is an exciting creative challenge to help build the first portal and brand that is literally entrusted to enter into hearth and home each week,” said Dave Luhr, COO for Wieden & Kennedy. “This assignment will employ the agency’s strong technology and dot com talents.”
The initial advertising campaign, scheduled to debut in November, will introduce HomeGrocer.com into key California markets, as well as fortify its presence in Washington and Oregon.
During the coming year, the agency will be responsible for a national brand launch as HomeGrocer.com expands into more than 20 markets across the country. The campaign will include television, radio, print and outdoor advertising.
Established in 1998 and currently serving the Seattle, Portland, OR., and Orange County, CA areas, HomeGrocer.com offers customers more than 12,000 key items to choose from, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy products and local specialty foods.
HomeGrocer.com delivers directly to customers’ homes with its own fleet of custom temperature-controlled vehicles. Wieden & Kennedy clients have included Nike, Coca-Cola, Miller, Microsoft and ESPN.
