Honkworm Creates National Ad Campaign on Fox TV

Honkworm International, along with ad agency WongDoody, has turned its short form “webisodes” into a national advertising campaign for Fox Television’s Major League baseball coverage.
Fox and its agency envisioned broadcast ads using Honkworm’s quirky, flash-based animated stylings.
Fox is currently broadcasting the 130 thirty-second spots on Fox Sports Network stations in 12 major U.S. markets, working with WongDoody and Rocket Pictures.
Spending was not disclosed.
“We saw the potential for Fox’s spots in the attitude that Honkworm has perfected,” said Ben Wiener, managing partner at WongDoody L.A. “Fox required a campaign that was arresting, engaging and memorable and that’s what Honkworm delivered. There’s nothing else like it on TV.”
“The creative collaboration with WongDoody and Fox is an opportunity for Honkworm to bridge the gap between traditional broadcast advertising and web content concept and production,” said Honkworm COO Dan Pepper.
Fox’s campaign features Honkworm’s photo surrealism animation technique paired with Rocket Pictures expertise to take the production value to a level suitable for television broadcast.
Honkworm International is an online entertainment studio that has licensed content to clients including Budweiser, Macromedia, MTV Networks, Nike, Excite, Lucent, Gibson Greetings, Playboy and RealNetworks.
