In a bid to help digital marketers stay up-to-date with online advertising regulations, the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has launched a new section in its website dedicated to providing guidelines on digital advertising.
The Digital Policy Guide offers answers to various questions marketers may have on a number of issues, including how digital advertising is regulated in the UK, basic rules businesses are asked to follow, and what happens if organisations do not comply with the rules set out.
Recently commenting on the website upgrade was IAB’s head of regulatory affairs director Nick Stringer, who told The Drum: “The rules and regulations governing digital advertising are often misunderstood, or people are confused by them or don’t have time to understand them properly. The aim of this it to help them navigate this, in a way that complements the existing authorities such as the CAP code, in a way that is easily digestible for businesses.”
Staying on top of, and preferably ahead of, the rules that govern the fast-paced digital advertising market is important for businesses, and the new Digital Policy Guide will serve as a helpful reference for many companies.
