NetCurrents Lands Hill & Knowlton
Beverly Hills, Calif.-based NetCurrents has a new partner in WPP Group’s Hill & Knowlton, which Wednesday said it would integrate NetCurrents’ PRManager tool into its own SmartTools suite.
PRManager monitors about 100,000 Web sites and 3,800 online publications in order to provide clients with insight on where and how they are being discussed.
NetCurrents said it would create a customized version of the software for the PR agency’s use.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but at any rate it’s a major distribution win for NetCurrents — Hill & Knowlton is one of the world’s largest PR agencies with 67 offices in 34 countries.
Digital Impact Strikes Partnership with Toppan Forms
San Mateo, Calif.-based online marketing firm Digital Impact is targeting Japan through a new agreement with a regional business and direct marketing publishing giant.
Toppan Forms is a leading provider of business communication printed products and services in Japan, with close to 50 percent market share of the country’s data print outsourcing market. The company also manages the offline direct marketing efforts of numerous Japanese enterprises.
According to the terms of the agreement, Toppan will use Digital Impact’s technology and services to integrate off-line and online marketing programs and facilitate the customer acquisition and retention efforts of regional corporations.
The partnership with Digital Impact is designed to advance Toppan’s position as an offline direct marketer into the online marketing space, the partners said.
CoolSavings Announces New Service
Chicago-based incentive marketer CoolSavings.com has debuted a new tool that helps clients test-response their email marketing messages.
CoolSavings’ E-mail Target Definition Service lets advertisers launch trial runs targeted to specific segments of CoolSavings’ member database, which the company says can help clients ensure results for their targeted email campaigns.
The offering is designed to help advertisers forecast response to targeted messages, tweak promotional performance and gain a better understanding of their online customers.
The E-mail Target Definition Service works by analyzing the response to a test email and creating a custom consumer segmentation model (containing CoolSavings members’ site activity, demographics and geographic data) to better define the client’s ideal target for future email campaigns.
Pivotal Media to Rep Cydoor Desktop Media
Los Angeles-based Web ad rep and PR firm Pivotal Media is now the exclusive ad sales rep for inventory on several of Cydoor Desktop Media’s applications.
Through a recent ad sales agreement, Pivotal Media will represent several of Cydoor’s desktop applications, including Internet phone Iphone, email manager Quickhead E, financial manager CASH2000, Tetris, and music player FreeMP3.
Together, these applications generate over 700 million impressions, according to Pivotal. Additionally, the company said the inventory is high-value because Cydoor Desktop Media applications are opt-in.
“The addition of Cydoor Desktop Media sponsored desktop applications is in sync with our mission to represent companies whose products provide functionality to their audiences,” said the firm’s president, Tom Doyle.
Pivotal will handle about 1.5 billion impressions in total following the deal, Doyle added.
