InfoXpress.com Inc., a privately held Internet company that develops, markets and implements customized interactive solutions for media companies, has launched Music Gear Online on behalf of a Miller Freeman Inc. (MFI).

“InfoXpress.com has created an online product that allows us to go way beyond the traditional banner advertising model to generate revenue via the Web,” said MFI publisher Vicki Hartung. “The income potential is practically endless.”

Combining the resources of two of MFI’s print publications, the Guitar & Bass Buyer’s Guide and the Music Technology Buyer’s Guide, Music Gear Online features product specifications and list prices for nearly 8,000 music products, services and software.

Visitors to Music Gear Online can request additional information about listed products, and the inquiries are instantly routed to the vendors in the form of sales leads. All online activity is automatically tracked, compiled, and made immediately accessible, so vendors can access and respond to the leads in real-time. Spending on the project was not disclosed.

Manufacturers listed in the buyer’s guide can obtain password authorization to access their listings and continually update content and add new products, giving users the most extensive and up-to-date resource for music equipment available anywhere on the Internet. Standard listings in Music Gear Online are free, but vendors can increase their visibility via several paid enhancement opportunities such as premium positioning, selective banner placement and adding a photo and/or logo to their listing.

Using its proprietary InfoTRACKER Web-to-database technological platform, InfoXpress.com generates sales leads for the 800 music industry vendors participating in the buyers guide by allowing site visitors to request additional product information to be delivered back to them via their choice of email, voice, fax or snail mail.

Real-time reports allow vendors to adjust their online product offerings to promote offerings with greater sales potential and/or higher margins.

Music Gear Online is the 15th buyer’s guide built by Naples, FL-based InfoXpress.com. Publisher-clients include Miller Freeman, McGraw-Hill, CMP Media, Primedia/Intertec, The Economist Group, Bill Communications, ACC Communications, and Adams Business Media, among others.
