Epsilon hires two VPs; Think Partnership promotes one and lays off others; Mike Grehan forms new search firm.
Epsilon hired two VPs. Alan Dorland will take the role of VP of data acquisitions in the data services group. Jim Lovelady is VP of sales for the Western region. Epsilon took heat last fall for restructuring and the dismissal of key executives.
Lewis Finch, co-founder of Think Partnership’s MarketSmart subsidiary, has been named president of Think’s advertising division, which recently absorbed MarketSmart. Many of MarketSmart’s 31 staff underwent layoffs, and a few will join Finch’s team.
Meanwhile, former MarketSmart executive Mike Grehan founded and will serve as CEO of Searchvisible. Searchvisible plans to build a team of organic and paid search specialists.
Friendster inked a deal with Google. Google will serve search and advertising on the social networking site for a period of two years. Friendster previously used Yahoo as a search partner.
LowerMyBills.com’s Matt Coffin takes on more responsibility at parent company Experian. In addition to maintaining his status as president and founder of LowerMyBills.com, Coffin will head up a new research and development center for Experian to develop new technologies and create new lines of business using the company’s assets.
Napster became the exclusive music subscription provider for AOL Music. Roughly 350,000 paid subscribers of the AOL Music Now service will be migrated to Napster’s digital music subscription service. In turn, AOL intends to promote Napster through links to the music subscription service throughout AOL Music.
Trevor Hamilton joined mobile ad solution firm Ad Infuse as director of sales. His previous experience includes the post of regional director, Western ad sales at Reuters Media. Hamilton serves on the board of the Bay Area Interactive Group.
Inter/Media Advertising named Tracy Lehmann director of media planning. She will serve on the Ditech.com account. Lehmann was previously senior media planner and supervisor at G2 Direct & Digital; and senior media planner at Colby and Partners.
Hispanic agency The Lab promoted Juan Munoz to creative director. At The Lab, Munoz is responsible for campaigns produced for HBO, Warner Channel, GenTV, and Commerce Bank. His previous experience includes work at BBDO and March First.
Delhaize America grocery stores signed on to use adplex’s interactive online circular program. Grocery chains using the circular include Food Lion, Hannaford Bros., and Sweetbay Supermarkets.
