Japanese Online Ad Revenue Rising

Internet advertising in Japan is expected to generate $74.8 million by then end of 1998, according to Dentsu Inc. This represents a 50 percent increase over the 1997 total, which reached $50.2 million.

In 1997, Internet advertising revenue represented .01 percent of the total advertising revenue of $49.8 billion in Japan.

The survey found that the technology and automobile industries accounted for most of the spending, but financial institutions are a fast growing market.
