In a smirk-defying social push, British Airways has called upon the University of Oxford’s a capella viral stars – Out of the Blue – to put a smile on the faces of stressed holiday-seekers booking their summer getaways.
Revamping the Wham classic, Club Tropicana, the video starring a herd of Oxbridge boffins was teased on social last week ahead of its release, and will now be seeded on British Airways’ on-board entertainment system from 16 February.

Fans will remember that the Oxford-based a capella group achieved viral fame last year with a rendition of Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie in a charity effort.
Claire Bentley, managing director of British Airways Holidays, said the social campaign aims to boost brand awareness during a stressful summer-holiday booking season.
She said: “We thought we’d lighten the mood with a little humour to remind holidaymakers we can take care of everything for them. The boys are right when they sing ‘fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone’; we’ve got beach holidays on sale from just £199 and like Club Tropicana, BA’s drinks are free!.”
