The drinks industry is increasingly making use of online promotions and offers in a bid to push sales, as news that Pernod Ricard is to follow in rival Diego’s footsteps by unveiling a new ecommerce hub is announced.
Dubbed the ‘The Sipstor’, Marketing Week gas reported that the drinks maker’s first online store will be selling various drinks from brands such as Jameson, Absolut, Malibu, Havana Club, Pernod Absinthe, Chivas and Beefeater London.
The move is a timely one for the company, who will be hurrying to catch up with rivals Diageo and AB InBev, both of which have made the move to provide online stores to enhance growth.
As well as a new online store, the company will also be launching a companion mobile app, created in order to draw a wider audience to exclusive deals and products not featured on the main website.
