According to eMarketer’s latest Global Media Intelligence Report, greater adoption of digital device and online connectivity has meant global ad spending will be worth around $517.10 billion this year, with digital ad sales representing over 22% of total ad spending in 2013.
Produced in collaboration with Starcom MediaVest Group, the report highlights that although total media spending has increased by 2.8%, the rate of increase is not as strong as it was last year, which saw spending increase by 4.4 %.
Despite this, digital ad spend is definitely doing its part to help improve ad revenue as the world continues to embrace technology such as smartphones, and has grown a massive 13.0% since 2012. Mobile spending in particular deserves special note, reaching nearly $15.82 billion this year and representing an enormous 79.7% year-over-year increase.
