In a bid to enhance its online reputation, internet streaming service Netflix has launched a new student ambassador programme in the UK and Ireland that will see it offer students a one-year free subscription in return for helping boost its presence on Twitter.
The deal will see students who participate will tweet questions about the various shows aired using their uni hashtag.
In a statement posted to Facebook, Netflix said: “Students are a big part of our Netflix UK and Ireland community and we want to hear what you think about our films, TV shows and our service in general.
“That’s why we’re looking for student ambassadors to champion Netflix UK and Ireland on Twitter and get people talking about our films and TV shows.”
On the hunt for ‘sociable and active’ uni students who are also ‘dedicated Twitter user[s]’, the strategic marketing move sees Netflix truly make the most of their young audience, whilst offering a pretty attractive incentive in return.
