Recent research conducted by advertising body, IPA, has revealed that an increasing amount of money is being pumped into marketing budgets, as companies and brands reap the benefits of online advertising and marketing.
The updated IPA Bellwether Report 2013 shows that in the second quarter of 2013 saw 22% of companies surveyed increase their marketing budgets. Compared with the 15% that decreased their budgets, the overall net balance result was 7.3%, which is the highest net balance taken for a Bellwether report since the three months to the end of September 2007, right before the financial crash devastated many.
IPA director general, Paul Bainsfair, commented on the Report: “Companies are beginning to shake off the cloak of recession and are becoming more confident in the economy. This bodes extremely well for continued growth in marketing spend for the rest of 2013. These figures should send a very upbeat message to the wider economy.”
