News America Digital Publishing (NADP) in New York, producers of Fox Sports Online; Fox News Online; TV Guide Entertainment Network; and Fox Market Wire, said it is now offering streaming video ads.
Fox Market Wire, a business, financial and stock market news site, launched some of the first ads using the technology for BMW. The ads feature up to 50 seconds of footage highlighting the new BMW 3 series and its various features. Spending was not disclosed.
Streaming video ads for BMW, as well as ABC, FOX and Alliance Capital, appear strategically throughout all four of NADP’s sites, the company said.
The streaming video (a RealPlayer is required) offers consumers the opportunity to view the ad via a daughter window next to the site content. While the advertisement offers the option to click onto a separate site, it is not required in order to view the video. Any standard TV commercial can be displayed, an NADP spokesman said.
Both ABC and FOX are presently taking advantage of TVGEN’s listings grid with streaming video featuring up to 30 seconds of fall program previews.
Said Matt Jacobson, executive vice president of News America Digital: “NADP’s steaming video technology provides marketers with a completely new outlet for their broadcast creative while increasingly offering more options to our consumers.”
